"Phantom Of The Opera" by Harajuku - Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

From the 1974 Brian DePalma film "Phantom Of The Paradise" is footage used for the 1992 Harajuku techno/dance track "Phantom Of The Opera".

A match made for each others dramatic sound and visuals. The horror-thriller/musical film was a strange but great rock interpretation of the classic "Phantom" story. And now brought together with some of the most stunning scenes.

The Harajuku track was released on Dance Street Records and produced by The Really Useful Group -- it is a cover of the Andrew Lloyd Webber piece.

REISSUE: “Sinner Man” by Sarah Dash – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

Sarah Dash is one of the vocalists during the early 70s who worked with Labelle – a movement of soul, rhythm and blues and funk. This new fusion also bridged a connection to popular rock music of the time. Sarah’s solo recording career began in 1971 with her project “Close Enough” where her soulful and unique sound promised a new growth for the artist.

During the disco explosion in 1978 Sarah released the single, “Sinner Man” from her self-titled LP. The song was an instant club and radio hit creating a soulful vocal and glorious disco arrangement together for a new edge and classic disco recording.

I have taken the 1987 comedy-fantasy film, “The Witches of Eastwick” starring Jack Nicholson, Cher, Susan Sarandon and Michelle Pfeiffer for the images in this Disco Video Mix. The story-line remains the same and is only extenuated by “Sinner Man’s” defiant and cautious lyrics.

The film was directed by George Miller

REISSUE: "Laser" by Laser – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

Electronic disco projects fueled by the imagination of artists and producers like Giorgio Moroder were the inspiration and the path of disco music in the early 80's. Artists like Patrick Cowley also assisted in this motion.

Laser is a German produced album by Wolfgang Hermes and as close to the perfection and adventure that disco electronica was to deliver. With the theme of galactic adventure and deep mystique.

I have taken the track "Laser" (which is an adventure in itself) and blended it with the 1966 science fiction film, "Fantastic Voyage" – which I can remember seeing on the big screen at the age of 5 during it's release. The film is about a diplomat who after being nearly assassinated is apart of experiment to shrink a submarine and it's crew down to be injected in his blood stream in attempt to save his life by
internal procedures.

The adventure works well together and many of the images are very imaginative.

The film was directed by Richard Fleischer and stars Stephen Boyd, Rachel
Welch, Edmond O' Brien, Donald Pleasence and Arthur O' Connell
