“American Love” by Rose Laurens – Video Mix by Glenn Rivera
This gem from 1986 is a track that shines even now in the same light. Rose Lauren’s brought to life this beautiful love song brings art to life.
I have taken the 1690 film “The World Of Suzie Wong” starring William Holden and Nancy Kwan and paired the two in a new outline for a love from different corners of the world. And though the ideas and lives may differ, they find a way of discovering a feeling deeper below the surface.
“American Love” was produced by Jean-Pierre Goussaud.

"Eaten Alive" by Diana Ross - Video Mix by Glenn Rivera
From the 1985 LP “Eaten Alive”, Diana Ross sounded comfortable taking dance floors by weaving street beats with 80’s synth pop. This production was a vibe of playfulness on Ross’ vocals and a team consisting of Barry Gibb and Michael Jackson as coordinators.
The track used a massive sound of pounding drum tracks and trickling percussion to outline a fantasy like uncontrollable love tale.
The 1975 Spielberg film, “Jaws” seemed more than appropriate than just a play on words. The terror that this film added to movie history still lingers on. And although we have seen films with more evil intent and gore the mysterious predator in this story seems a bit more of nightmare that would even keep “The Sandman” awake.
Dedicated to the hardcore Diana Ross fans, the master, Mr. Spielberg and his unlimited imagination and Roy Scheider who passed away this year in 2008.

"Think It Over" by Cissy Houston - Video Mix by Glenn Rivera
Cissy Houston (Whitney's mother) was a commodity in disco music during 1978 – her dance floor hit, “Think It Over” is a track that will be long remembered as one of the most powerful female defiance songs of the disco era. The best part is that is so hardcore and underground that most will never hear it, unless they have by some luck found it. In 2000 this track was covered by Jennifer Holiday, but the original with the Michael Zager production remains the best.
More of Michael Zager’s production magic of the disco era is displayed in both the orchestral arrangement and the dance mix.
I have taken a close call here by combining Adrian Lyne film “Fatal Attraction” from 1987 with Houston’s track. It is a bit heavy and to the point – but that’s what Cissy brings out in her wonderful vocal. I have attempted to keep away from the blood and gore of some scenes. Just a touch of the outline should keep any man monogamous. The film stars Michael Douglas, Glenn Close and Anne Archer.
A special thanks to all of you who make these videos work with your imagination and love for disco music. Keeping it alive is where it is.

"Magic Or Disco" - Incredible Italo Disco!
A wonderful CD with some of the brightest and beautiful dance tracks ever released. Many have an anthem like quality with a touch of "fantasy" sprinkled on top.
This is the most exciting collection I have heard in sometime - after popping it in I found it was over too soon!

“Catch” by Sun-La-Shan - Video Mix by Glenn Rivera
Italo-disco began an innovative journey from 1980 throughout the latter part of this dance era. Many musicians of this generation were heavily influenced by the beauty of Euro-disco, yet were obviously searching for a sound that was adventurous and fresh.
Bands such as Sun-La-Shan emphasized a feel for keyboards and arrangements that were just a phenomenal as the German work of Kraftwerk. In a time where experimental techniques were key their track “Catch” became a sound that even today perplexes and tweaks the mind.
In 1982 this single was released on their label Superradio and was produced by Franco Scopinich (Atmosphere, Camaro’s Gang, Dance Club) and featured strange but alluring vocals by Venise.
I asked Italo-disco specialist, Alex Nikitin (www.euro-flash.net) a track from this genre which to apply with a Video Mix and “Catch” was it. Sounded great to me – but which film would work over the mysterious sound and flow of the song? After a few minutes of thought, the images of the 1977 horror film by Dario Argento were embedded in my mind. The two were made for each other.
And even though the spoken elements of the dance track “Catch” are quite a mystery the terror of “Suspiria” seem to answer the keyboards, which haunt the track.
“Suspiria” stars Jessica Harper, Stefania Casini and Flavio Bucci – my first time viewing this film as a teenager made me sleepless for several nights. Now I find the allure of “Suspiria” being the genius of Argento’s outline to brilliantly capture suspense and horror as art.
This Video Mix is a salute to Italo-disco and Dario Argento.
