Pet Shop Boys @ The Brits

I did not see this posted here on Multiply - and being such a big fan of PSB I could not resist!

Guests: Lady Gaga and Brandon Flowers

A great visual performance by the Boys!

Great music - it is incredible to think how much wonderful music they have created and not only with themselves: Dusty Springfield, Liza Minelli, etc.

The way disco music should be!

VIRUS REMINDER: Orbit Downloader???

I received an email from someone who says they installed Orbit Downloader and their system froze up and they cannot reboot.

I have been using Orbit for over a year and a half and have never had any problems.

However, yesterday morning AVG Anti-Virus did pop a message reading there was a Trojan virus caught from Orbit - I of course removed it right away and rescanned with AVG and a online scanning site. I was clean.

Please be careful - update your definitions daily and scan regularly, if not everyday.

A virus in your system is a BUMMER, as most of us know!!!

"The Source" - A Super 8 mm from 1975 Film by Glenn Rivera

Okay, so "The Exorcist" was the big influence on this one!

This story is quite funny - an ancient medallion that possesses whomever wears it??? Whatever.

We laughed and laughed when we made this - as you will see in some scenes.

The opening story in written form means nothing really - it just tells the story of the medallion - oh, and don't try to order one from HSN!

"Spectrum" - A Super 8 Film from 1976 by Glenn Rivera

This was a project for high school drama - there was a filmmakers competition and this was my entry. It won first place at Montgomery Jr. High School.

"Spectrum" is the story of a young girl who enrolls into a new school and is picked on by a bullying gang of girls until she loses it. This was long before the Columbine shooting - whatever that means.

I was lucky enough to have permission to bring a bee bee gun to school for the shooting as well as cooperation with students and teachers.

"Bloody Holiday" A Film from 1977 by Glenn Rivera

NOTE: SORRY ABOUT THE LAST 5 MINUTES - MULTIPLY ONLY ALLOWS 20 MINUTES - TO VIEW THE ENTIRE FILM YOU WILL NEED TO DOWNLOAD IT FROM THE LINK BELOW THE PLAYER.

Long before John Carpenter's "Halloween" I created a film in Super 8mm film using school and neighborhood friends called, "Bloody Holiday".

BLOODY HOLIDAY was originally released in 1977 - the story of a community terrorized by a madman who is destined to rid the world of Halloween. The film was shot in Super 8mm film but now has been newly edited and mastered as a short-film that contains some shocks and terrifying events.

I hope you enjoy it - it is quite funny!

"The Twilight Tone" by The Manhattan Transfer - Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

In 1979 the vocal ensemble of The Manhattan Transfer took disco music into their own hands.

"The Twilight Tone" is one of the most imaginative dance tracks to move the dance floor at the end of the 70's. The powerful lead vocals sk-ats and brings forth a new experience to disco music. Along with the narrative featuring a Rod Serling sound alike.

A creative track that still has a wondrous feel - it was producer and arranged by Jay Graydon.

I have take the Bert I. Gordon film, "Village Of The Giants" and paired it with "The Twilight Tone" to present a whole new episode for this mysterious place. The film stars Tommy Kirk, Johnny Crawford, Beau Bridges, Ron Howard and Joy Harmon. Quite a fun little adventure.

THIS IS PART II OF THE INTERVIEW

The Program in American Studies at Georgetown University was thrilled to host 1970's dance music legend D.C. LaRue during the spring of 2004. Mr. LaRue regaled us with marvelous tales of the disco era, the evolution of Disco and it's music as he knew it, his insights into the economics of the music business, and what might lie in store for popular music during the 21st century. Part 1 and Part 2 is video of the first 12 minutes of the lecture.

Georgetown University was also thrilled that Mr. LaRue was able to perform his wildly influential dance classic, Cathedrals, as well as some of his other infectious compositions. If Disco lives, it lives through the music of D.C. LaRue!
