"Mother's Love (Mama Mia)" by Macho - Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

Macho was a studio concept band from Mauro Malavasi whose initial LP from 1978 featured a electronic disco cover of Steve Winwood's "I'm A Man" - the success on dance floors was immediate. A second project followed in 1980 with an album titled "Roll".

"Mother's Love (Mama Mia)" was a single from the LP along with "Not Tonight" and the title track "Roll". The rock edged "Mother's Love" gave a bit of a reminder of "Hot Leather" with a rock edge, which Celso Valli produced and arranged also. The heavy drudge guitars add to the wild flair.

I have taken the track and created a warped vide of the 1960 Alfred Hitchcock classic tale-of-terror, "Psycho" starring Anthony Perkins, Janet Leigh, Vera Miles and John Gavin. The close affiliated "mother" theme add a bit of play on words and fun with some of the scenes that have scared the heck out a generations of movie goers and also provoked several remakes including a copycat of the original redone in 1998 by director Gus Van Sant.

"It Was A Very Good Year" by Marlena Shaw - Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

Soul artist Marlena Shaw hit the discos in 1979 with an LP produced by Harold Wheeler, Meco Monardo and Tony Bongiovi - the project is titled, "Take A Bite". It was one of the most celebrated disco albums thanks to Marlena's "Suite Seventeen" Medley, which included "It Was A Very Good Year" and "Touch Me In The Morning".

I have created a lone version of the song from the medley and mixed the song along with the 1980 film "Foxes" starring Jodie Foster. The scenes are constructed to outline the years gone by and reflection of life.

The film was directed by Adrian Lyne

This Disco Video Mix is dedicated to Hans R. de Vries for helping to keep the disco divas alive!

Argentina legalizes gay marriage in historic vote

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina – Argentina legalized same-sex marriage Thursday, becoming the first country in Latin America to declare that gays and lesbians have all the legal rights, responsibilities and protections that marriage brings to heterosexual couples.

After a marathon debate in Argentina's senate, 33 lawmakers voted in favor, 27 against and 3 abstained in a vote that ended after 4 a.m. Since the lower house already approved it and President Cristina Fernandez is a strong supporter, it becomes law as soon as it is published in the official bulletin, which should happen within days.

The law is sure to bring a wave of marriages by gays and lesbians who have found Buenos Aires to be a welcoming place to live. But same-sex couples from other countries shouldn't rush their Argentine wedding plans, since only citizens and residents can wed in the country, and the necessary documents can take months to obtain. While it makes some amendments to the civil code, many other aspects of family law will have to be changed.

The approval came despite a concerted campaign by the Roman Catholic Church and evangelical groups, which drew 60,000 people to march on Congress and urged parents in churches and schools to work against passage. Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio led the campaign, saying "children need to have the right to be raised and educated by a father and a mother."

Nine gay couples had already married in Argentina after persuading judges that the constitutional mandate of equality supports their marriage rights, although their validity was later challenged by other judges. Congressional passage now removes that doubt.

As the debate stretched on for nearly 16 hours, large crowds held rival vigils through the frigid night outside the Congress building. When the final vote came, cheers and hugs broke out among the bill's supporters, with police keeping them separate from frustrated opponents who prayed and held rosaries.

"Marriage between a man and a woman has existed for centuries, and is essential for the perpetuation of the species," insisted Sen. Juan Perez Alsina, who is usually a loyal supporter of the president but gave a passionate speech against gay marriage inside the Senate chamber.

But Sen. Norma Morandini, another member of the president's party, compared the discrimination closeted gays face to the oppression imposed by Argentina's dictators decades ago.

"What defines us is our humanity, and what runs against humanity is intolerance," she said.

"Chinese Eyes" by Fancy - Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

Fancy is Manfred Alois Segieth (also known as Tess, Timerider and The Hurricanes) a German disco group assembled in 1984 following the success of their single "Chinese Eyes". It was a time for high energy to begin reshaping its sound once again and a more ominous effect of synthesizer power and imagination took effect.

The single "Chinese Eyes" was the first of the slamming edge of Fancy's rhythmic dance sound. It was an instant dance floor hit.

I have taken the track along with the 1973 martial arts-action film, "Enter The Dragon" starring Bruce Lee and paired the fast moving segments along with the disco track. It works as long as the eye can keep up with Mr. Lee's impact on the 70's and the martial arts scene. He is now apart of film and personality history and hopefully now memorable on dance floors.

The film was directed by Robert Clouse
