A blend of disco's music most futuristic and funky dance numbers. This recording in from a party I played at in 1988 - a friend named, Eddie was the birthday boy. He was a big fan of space movies and television shows. I decided to blend a few disco tunes that were out-of-the-way odd and dealing with science fiction. Along with some closing pop material for the guests. It was a success for that night - even for the droid who showed up in a robot garb made of boxes and wiring - quite an interesting night. I hope you will enjoy kicking back and entering another dimension with me.

Easy Going – “Fear” – The Video

Video Mix by Glenn Rivera
Produced by Ken Emmons
"Fear" by Easy Going (1979) Produced by Giancarlo Meo
"Torso" (1973) - Directed by Sergio Martino

“Fear” was an Italian production with an innovative feel for dance floors during its release. The robotic feel along with the vocoder generated lead vocals create an electro feel and hypnotic transition. I have taken the LP version and a 1973 horror film, “Torso” – directed by Sergio Martino and created a new meaning to the song. The film “Torso” was a Carlo Ponti production and was added to the slasher film list of the 70’s. More eroticism was added to utilize the cast including Suzy Kendall (“To Sir, With Love”) and many other Italian beauties (men and women) in this psychosexual thriller. It also contains one of the most squeamish moments of suspense at the end of the film which I used a climax for the video.

Building A Mountain - Making 'Ain't No Mountain High Enough' Video

NOTE: THIS IS NOT THE FULL VIDEO - MULTIPLY ONLY ALLOWS 10 MINUTES OF VIDEO UPLOAD - FULL VERSION WILL BE ADDED LATER

“Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” by Boystown Gang was released in 1981 – vocalist Cynthia Manley made their initial project a huge success with her amazing vocal range and great stage presence.

It is now 2007, 26 years later and the video is here. This is a montage of scenes and clips from the wonderful weekend we had making the video with Cynthia Manley.

I would like to thank my partner, Ken Emmons for producing the video and for always supporting my projects with such heart. Gary Rader for his incredible camera work, time and patience. Anthony Patrick Gioffre for his help on the set and his great energy. And to Cynthia’s incredible and kind assistant, Ms. Nancy Ray.

It was a lot of fun and the video is for you. Enjoy!

From 1983 – 1986 I was living in Los Angeles, California and spinning nightly at a Levi-Leather bar notoriously called, Spike. The bar would remain open until 6am on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Some of my most exciting and adventurous mixing was during this period. I enjoyed spinning music after 2 am when all of the alcohol was taken away and the music was what got you high. I had a great time mixing some great old classic disco during this period and found it very much appreciated.

Anyone who visited Spike during this time knew how incredible the experience was – especially the music. I want to thank the bar manager, Vince at the time who would come up to the booth every 15 – 20 minutes and say, “Bang em’ to the wall!” He always wanted them to be pulled into the energy of the music, and then slowly let down a few levels – and then back up again. It was the most incredible programming experience of my spinning career. Everyone was listening to the music.

This mix is dedicated in memory of my co-DJ from Spike, John Riles – his energy is still around me.

Boris Midney

Ad from a 70's disco magazine.

In 1991 Boris Midney produced a project titled, 3D - it was something different from USA-European Connection and Beautiful Bend and far from Caress, Maquarade and Companion. It was proof that Midney was attempting to move with the times. Very similar to the pop dance sound of it's time (Bobby Brown, Milli Vanilli, etc.) yet there is an essence of Midney with keyboards on side B cut "L'amour" that is his style - could be the electronic flutes that bring the breaks into Euro feel. It is definetely a sound that is rare for Boris Midney.

He moved on in the late 90's to produced M Sounds -which was a more techno sound and again a sound that outlined Midney's attempt to create a sound within the market of the time. His masterpieces from the 70's still ring strong and are enough for fans to go back and appreciate again with full-force his talents, and new fans to to be in awe of his genius.

I will feature "You Ain't All That" and "L'amour" on Music Page!

Once again, the world awaits Boris Midney.
