Camp Horror of The 70's: "The Devil Within Her" (1975) - Part 9 (Finale)

"The Devil Within Her" (1975) - Part 9 (Finale)

This combination of "Rosemary's Baby" and "The Exorcist" was an example of how far that evil box office would go to make us scared of our own shadow - or even sit through another film about demons and devils. Quite funny actually - it is like living in Quaker times and believing the moon was a spirit.

It is all in good fun though.

Dedicated to Manifested Glory Ministries (Connecticut) who believe you can exorcise gay and lesbian to rid them, of homosexuality - good luck guys - is this what you are looking for?

"I Like Plastic" by Marsha Raven - Performed by Arthur

From 1980 - 1990, I worked off-and-on at a local club here in San Diego, CA called Brass Rail - it is the oldest gay bar in San Diego.

It was known for it's drag shows - which were to raise money for the community and charities.

The bar would hold an annual event called "Turnarounds" - where the female impersonators would tend bar and the bar employees would perform on stage - it was hilarious!

A good friend of mine, Arthur - who passed in 1992 was a crack-up! He was one the funniest and entertaining people I ever knew. Crazy as heck - but I like that.

In 1989 at the "Turnaround" show he performed a disco song called "I Like Plastic" which was one of the first singles by Marsha Raven - Arthur heard the song on a cassette I mixed for him and loved it. So he did his own campy and zany interpretation of the song using plastic bags, and anything plastic! It is funny that he picked such a crazy song.

I dedicate this to Arthur who was a great part of my life spinning in San Diego :)

Our Vet: Sunset Cliffs Animal Hospital - NEW BUILDING GRAND OPENING!

These are the most wonderful people to look after your pet!

Animal lovers and pet owners understand that the care you give you pet is very important. Out vet is Sunset Cliffs Animal Hospital (Ocean Beach Area).

They are the most incredible people - and have been taking care of Disco and Boogie since they were babies. We have always had problems with past vets: not knowing your pet or their status on past visits, or even giving them loving care. Not with SCAH - they are the best.

Dr. Eduardo Acosta and Dr. Christy Berg are the bomb! The best in their field. They recently bought property a few blocks from their old office and had a new office designed and built to enhance their practice and business.

The new location as you can see is absolutely incredible!

We look forward to taking Disco and Boogie for their shots and care in the future, here. And so do they! They love Dr. Acosta, Dr. Berg and Dr. Altman.

You can see more of them at: http://www.sunsetcliffsanimalhospital.com/

Dr. Berg is also an artist. She painted our portraits of Disco and Boogie - you may see her work at: http://www.sunsetcliffsanimalhospital.com/berg.html - she can work from a picture. So if you are interested in having an oil done of your pet - email her!

Jaws 2: "Just when you thought it was safe..."

A second creature was spotted in the estuary - this is another one of those rogue creatures. Only she waits for the "kill" to be completed by her mate and then sets up her place setting.

Anyone planning on swimming today...I would not recommend it. Not until these beats are caught and fed something other than flesh! Like Pedigree or Iams!

Rogue Boogie: A Different set of "Jaws"! (or Flaps)

Every morning around 8 am this vicious creature takes on the rogue characteristic much like the creature in "Jaws" - anyone in his space he will attack and attempt to tire them out...so then he can do his licking to the face and also a few nudges with his "flaps".

Not for the faint at heart!

Paul Parker Remix: "Don't Stop" - as close to Megatone as you can get!

Paul Parker Remix: "Don't Stop" - as close to Megatone as you can get!

Paul Parker's newly remixed track "Don't Stop" - remixed by Hollander is a surprise.

Paul sent me a copy of the remix - it is dynamite. Lots of new feeling to the mix and also feeling of the Megatone productions are evident.

I was quite excited to hear this remix and also Paul again - he sounds terrific. I would say this is one of his best!

Hopefully when we meet again in the summer we will shoot a video for this track - it would be exciting!

I will keep all you Paul Parker fans undated.

Good energy to you - thanks for supporting disco music.

"Ain't That Just Like A Woman" by Body Heat - Directed by Glenn Rivera

This track is actually the B-Side to a Canadian disco single titled, "Lisa, Lisa" by Body Heat released in 1982.

The track was so campy I always wanted to make a video of it - so along came 2003 Halloween and the project was completed. Thanks to some talented friends, Roy and Rita who play the heroine and the lead male - it is quite hilarious. We had a ball making it and a heck of a time trying to keep a straight face!

“Strive” by Gloria Gaynor – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

From her 1984 LP, “I Am Gloria” comes “Strive” – a very high energy and upbeat dance track. Produced by Joel Diamond (Silver Blue, The Invitations, Lew Kirton, Joel Diamond Experience, Jack Black, etc.) and featured keyboards by Marcus Barone (“Savage Lover” by The Ring”).

Gloria gives another outstanding performance with a great message tagged along.

“A Chorus Line” –The Movie is featured as the visual for this Disco Video Mix – released in 1985 – it is the film version of the 12 times Tony Award winning Broadway play which ran for 6,137 performances. The late Michael Bennett (“Dreamgirls”) who passed in 1987 choreographed the original production.

Richard Attenborough directs the film.

The energy is in the hopes and dreams of these performers.

"Rabbit Test" - Part 8

Rabbit Test is a 1978 comedy motion picture about the world's first pregnant man. Its title is derived from the rabbit test previously used to determine pregnancy.

Okay. This is a silly moment in film history. Joan Rivers "yuk-yuk" humor and political in-correctness! But it has it's gigles here and there - and is so 70's!

This was one of the first feature films to be shot on videotape, then transferred to film stock.

Starring Billy Crystal, Alex Rocco, George Gobel and Doris Roberts

Directed by Joan Rivers

Look for Imogene Coca, Richard Deacon, Norman Fell, Fannie Flagg, Alice Ghostley, Roosevelt Grier, Paul Lynde, Sheree North, Charles Pierce, Tom Poston, Charlotte Rae, and Jimmie Walker.
