National Protest of Prop 8: San Diego CA - November 15, 2008

FROM PRESS RELEASE:

SAN DIEGO, CA -- Today's March and Rally for Marriage Equality, an
event organized nationally by JoinTheImpact.com and locally by a team
of grassroots volunteers, drew 20,000 protestors, which was the
largest group in California. The crowd marched peacefully along the
2-mile route and the San Diego Police Department did not report any
arrests among participants.

A team of 100 volunteers, desigated with specially created teeshirts,
helped to control the crowd. The San Diego police department thanked
Sara Beth Brooks, the head of the volunteers who organized this march,
for her commitment to a peaceful march, and for the clean up efforts
made by Brooks and her team at their Rally location at County
Administration. The rally site was left exactly as it was found --
without trash or litter of any kind.

A 16,000 square foot gay pride flag was created by 3,000 volunteers
who held pieces of 2x3 posterboard in rainbow colors above their
heads, being cued by speakers to "Show Us Your Pride!" The flag was
captured from the air by several news helicopters.

"This is a win today for the Marriage Equality Movement," said Brooks.
"We had a peaceful, productive protest and it happened without
incident. The San Diego Police Department were extremely helpful and
visible at our event. We worked closely with them to help this event
remain peaceful."

The marchers occupied more than one mile of roadway space; several
lanes of traffic were closed along the march route.

The rally that followed at County Administration Building had a docket
of speakers from all communities -- African American, Latino, and
faith communities. The rally concluded with civil rights lawyer
Gloria Allred, who encouraged the crowd to chant, "We shall overcome!"

  1. How disconcerning the passage of Proposition 8 is - I can not blame the voters not to sanction a marriage between 2 gay men or 2 gay women.
If the State were to authorize Partnership licences in lieu of Marriage licences with all appertances that exist between heterosexuals with a marriage licence - the homosexuals will have the same appertances as it is with those who are one man and women,
The reason I reccommend a Partnership Licence instead of a Marriage Licence is that according to Natural Law 2 male plugs or 2 female receptors can never equal one male plug and one female receptor - simple as that - given this light - only a "union" - a bonding can co-exist between one man and one woman. While 2 males may think that one of the them consider himself the male in a conjugal embrace and the other would be the other the female as the male would take the other anally - that is not according to Natural Order. And while one female may don a male apparatus and inserting that into a receiving vagina of the other female - that goes against the Natural Order.
That given I have not even touched the Moral Order - God created Man out of His Likeness...then God put Adam to sleep and made his Help Mate - Eve - and they both had Seth, Cain, Abel and other children that are not mentioned in the Bible. (The Bible is all that I have to go on) but that is sufficient.
I do not care to go on with the Moral Order.
But I do reccommend that the homosexual community put up a petition to get signed and put on the State ballot a Proposition to give the homosexual community the same rights as the heterosexual community - the issuance of a Partnership Licence given by the State with the same benefits as a Marriage Licence does for the heterosexual community.

  2. Bud - I do not believe in god - no one has seen him (but religious fanatics) he has done nothing in my life that I do not claim as my own doing. Not everyone believes in your god and the way things were written in a story from thousands of years ago - by man himself. I do not want to go into that because I feel strongly against religion for making my life unacceptable through it's teachings. It is old and untrue.

Partnership license do not offer the same as marriage - first of all marriage is a civil right. Not a religious one. And as a tax paying member of the United States, I am entitled as well as all others to the same rights. This is strongly felt and the fact that it was voted against was unconstitutional and will be proved, if you know and believe in our constitution. That is what this is about.

Nothing about sex in any way - religion makes it sound perverted. It is no ones business what gay or straight people do in the privacy of their bedrooms. I will not allow any religion control what I do in my private life - as I do not do to them.

I disagree with you - you speak of religious beliefs - do not you post much pornography on Multiply? Is that against religion? Probably. If you read and understand what you are trying to follow. So allowing your somewhat believes to take effect as "adam and eve", etc, you are a as guilty. So I would not attempt to teach anything unless you claim to be better than others

I am passionate about my cause as many are and will will not stop until we what we are entitled to as citizens and American's.

I thank you for responding, but we obviously have different views of the world.
