"Wicked, Wicked" - Part 10 (Finale)
Duo-Vision. No Glasses - All You Need Are Your Eyes.
I saw "Wicked, Wicked" as a the age of 12 - what a blow! I always loved suspense and horror as a kid. This one was curious to me because ti was being shown in "DUO-VISION" a new concept where the screen would be split in half and you witness 2 angles of each sequence. Seemed groundbreaking at the time - since then it has been used over and over in scenes of various great films.
The film was shot here in San Diego, CA at a famous resort called Hotel Del Coronado - it is quite a cheesy film but outlines the camp and quality of films in the early 70's - it was written and directed by Richard L. Bare who believe it or not directed many episodes of Green Acres!!!
The night club scenes are fabulous - the songs are to much - you may sit back and wonder...what?
NOTE: There are German subtitles on the underground copy and the quality is a bit bad - but still fun to watch.
Beware - It can be quite ghastly and terrifying in some scenes!
A tongue-in-cheek psycho movie in "Duo-vision." The entire feature employs the split-screen technique used in parts of Brian De Palma's "Sisters" that same year. As a handyman at a seacoast hotel, Randolph Roberts wears a monster mask while he kills and dismembers women with blond hair. Tiffany Bolling is a singer, Scott Brady is a detective and Edd "Kookie" Burns is a lifeguard. The music is the original organ score for the silent film "Phantom of the Opera."
