"I Like Plastic" by Marsha Raven - Performed by Arthur

From 1980 - 1990, I worked off-and-on at a local club here in San Diego, CA called Brass Rail - it is the oldest gay bar in San Diego.

It was known for it's drag shows - which were to raise money for the community and charities.

The bar would hold an annual event called "Turnarounds" - where the female impersonators would tend bar and the bar employees would perform on stage - it was hilarious!

A good friend of mine, Arthur - who passed in 1992 was a crack-up! He was one the funniest and entertaining people I ever knew. Crazy as heck - but I like that.

In 1989 at the "Turnaround" show he performed a disco song called "I Like Plastic" which was one of the first singles by Marsha Raven - Arthur heard the song on a cassette I mixed for him and loved it. So he did his own campy and zany interpretation of the song using plastic bags, and anything plastic! It is funny that he picked such a crazy song.

I dedicate this to Arthur who was a great part of my life spinning in San Diego :)
