Marlena Shaw placed a mark with Diana Ross’ classic 1977 ballad “Touch Me In The Morning” – along with producer Meco Monardo the song was disco-fied in 1979.
Taking a song with such emotional content and delivery and creating an extension of its beauty is justice for Shaw – she recreates a scenario that not only takes the song further but also adds to it.
With a remix by John Luongo this song is now a classic piece of disco music.
I have taken Diana Ross’ fabulous “Mahogany” and placed this disco gem below the fashion and drama. It is not the Theme from Mahogany (“Do You Know Where Your Going To”) but it lends its tenderness to the Disco Video Mix.
I dedicate this Disco Video Mix to Tim from Scotch Plains, NJ who has given his meaning to beautiful music and also his respect for “The Boss – Ms. Diana Ross” – thank you, Tim
