When the disco boom began in the mid-70s many major record labels looked to the DJ to fill them in on what was happening with the promo copies they were supplying.
This is a Warner Bros. Records insert that would have been included in each promo disco 12" single from various pools to have an immediate response from the jocks. This was programming was effecting what was the next "disco" move on the labels end.
Eventually and now, most DJs are now producers, therefore the connection to the dance floor are the blink of an eye.
