It was great to see my brother Lorenzo - who was visiting from Miami - he was a big inspiration with music for me - he was always singing when we were growing up and he also helped me with filmaking when I was a kid and teenager. Actaully, we were both trouble when we were together!

ReplyDeleteThank you, Steven - they are allot of fun too! Believe it or not, that lady (my mom) is a total disco queen! He favorite song is "Love and Desire" by Arpeggio! It would make her dance whenever we had a family gathering :) Good energy to you, Steven :)

ReplyDeleteBelieve it or not, there are 8 of us!!! 6 girls and 2 boys - and out of that, both boys are gay and 2 of my sisters are lesbians!!! Can you believe that? Which is probably why my mother looks so confused :) My brother is great - always laughing - like me :)
ReplyDeleteWow! That's amazing - so great! I just have one brother (older) and one sister (younger). When we were teenagers, my brother was always into rock music, but my sister Sue would often come out dancing with me and loved all the disco music! Her favourites were acts like Gloria, Thelma, Vicki Sue, Donna, 3 Degrees, Ritchie Family, Sylvester, Deniece Williams and France Joli. I still burn cds of our old favourites sometimes for her, and she tells me she plays them full volume in the car, singing along:)
ReplyDeleteI think the love of the divas was inherited from my late father, who loved jazz and introduced me to fabulous singers like Dinah Washington (still an all time favourite of mine), Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan and Billie Holiday. It was a worthwhile education in good music I feel! Nick:)
