Film Faux pas: “Earthquake” (1974) - “Who’s My Father?!?”

Film Faux pas: “Earthquake” (1974) - “Who’s My Father?!?”

The 1974 disaster film “Earthquake” had a all-star cast. But working at it was attempted a little too hard with not enough thought.

Ava Gardner played Charlton Heston’s wife - which is fare game - but Lorne Greene playing Ava’s father? Everyone knew it was a bit ridiculous: Lorne Green was born in 1915, Ava was born in 1922. Oh, well - I guess that is why the ground shook so hard!

Here are a few scenes that make it less of drama and more of a comedy with this mind.

I love the film as a kid and still think it is “AN EVENT” - but this makes me giggle inside.

The film was directed by Mark Robson (“Valley Of The Dolls”)
