Rockwell (Kennedy William Gordy) is a 80s artists who had a big radio/dance hit with “Somebody’s Watching Me” in 1983. His LP by the same name contained his follow up single, “Obscene Phone Caller” – another 80s dance single in his campy funk-punk style.
I have taken the 12” version of the song and paired it with the 1965 William Castle thriller, “I Saw What You Did” starring Joan Crawford and John Ireland. A sometimes silly thriller shows what innocent pranks can lead to when you prank call a psychotic killer.
The film was directed by William Castle

Great to see Joan Crawford emoting to this fabulous 80's tune! 'Campy funk-punk' as you so accurately describe it! I used to love Rockwell and his fun style of music - he was quite popular here in Australia for a while back then. Nice work guys - love it! Nick & Lindsay:)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Nick :) This was one of those movies that woudl play so much when I was growing up on Saturday afternoons - it was so silly - but I loved Joan Crawford so it was a hit with me. Lots of fun Disco Video Mixes coming up!
