Bobby ‘O is a disco/high-energy producer from the late 70s and on to the 80s. His work includes Roni Griffith, The Flirts, Oh Romeo, Waterfront Home, Divine, One-Two-Three and many other studio projects. His work is heavy on the disco synthesizer and deep-sometimes tribal percussion.
His 1982 solo track “She Has A Way” is one of the better known sounds and songs of that year. His work was a definite move for disco back to the underground stage.
I have taken the 1950 drama “Harriet Craig” into this Disco Video Mix – combining the play on the disco song title and Joan Crawford’s domineering character. It works great fun and a new way to dance to both Joan and Bobby ‘O on one floor!
The film was directed by Vincent Sherman

ReplyDeleteLOL:) Did you ever see the film 'Die Mommie Die!' starring Charles Busch? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Die,_Mommie,_Die!
ReplyDeleteIt is a fantastic and very camp tribute to the sort of films classic Hollywood leading ladies like Bette Davis and Joan Crawford used to star in. So much fun:) N&L x
I did it - I did not like it as much as "Girls Will Be Girls" - HAVE YOU SEEN THAT FILM? Hilarious! Kind of a modern day "Valley Of The Dolls" - let me know - I will indlude it in your package.
ReplyDeleteI did not like the lead in "Die, Mommie Die" that much - she was okay - wasn't she also in "Psycho Beach Party"?
Thank you, Nick :)
Yes - Charles Busch was in Psycho Beach Party as well - in a smaller role. Have seen clips of Girls Will Be Girls online - but haven't seen the whole movie - would love to, thank you!! It's very kind of you to offer:) Nick x
